Hotel reservations near the Canadian border have seen notable decreases as well. Niagara Falls, New York, reported a 8.1% decline in Saturday night bookings and Bellingham, Washinton, recently saw a 10.8% dip. Canadian travel agency Flight Centre rang the alarm that booking to the US in February plummeted an alarming 40% YoY. There were over 20.4 million visits to the US from Canada in 2024, aiding in $20.5 billion in spending. The US Travel Association believes a 10% decline in Canadian tourism could shed $2.1 billion from the US economy and cost up to 14,000 jobs. The association noted that if the current trend continues, the US economy will lose at least $4 billion in tourism. Tourism states like Florida, New York, Nevada, Texas, and California will experience the worst repercussions of this travel boycott.

Michigan sheriff announces criminal investigation into 2020 election crimes, Dominion Voting Systems

He stated: “The Texas Attorney General has opened a criminal investigation related to Dominion Voting Systems, Election Systems & Software (ES&S). Hart InterCivic, and SolarWinds including specific subcontractors, agents, and employees.”

According to the press release, the sheriff’s office will release more information when it can do so without compromising the investigation. However, he has posted on X in the past that he was looking into “conspiracy crimes, wire services fraud, honest services fraud, and perjury charges” related to Dominion CEO John Polous’ “sworn testimony before the Michigan Legislature that its voting systems could not be accessed or connected to by outside networks and sources, and that it was a ‘US based company.'”

Texas has launched a criminal investigation into Dominion Voting Systems after evidence emerged that their machines are rigged to help Kamala Harris win the presidency.

A sheriff’s office in Barry County, Michigan, is referring electoral crimes to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and has confirmed that the America First law officer has opened a criminal investigation into Dominion Voting Systems.

“The Barry County Sheriff’s Office has an ongoing investigation into election related crimes since December 2020,” a statement from Sheriff Dar Leaf explains, confirming the Michigan law office “has made referrals for criminal ingestion to the Texas Attorney General’s Office.”​

Dockworkers' Union to Suspend Strike

The union representing 45,000 striking U.S. dockworkers at East and Gulf coast ports has reached a deal to suspend their strike until Jan. 15 to provide time to negotiate a new contract, a person briefed on the matter says.

The union, the International Longshoremen’s Association, is to resume working immediately at least until January said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the agreement has yet to be signed.

The agreement will allow the union and the U.S Maritime Alliance, which represents the shippers and ports, time to negotiate a new six-year contract. The person also said both sides reached agreement on wage increases, but details weren’t available.

The union went on strike early Tuesday after its contract expired in a dispute over pay and the automation of tasks at the ports from Maine to Texas. The strike came at the peak of the holiday shopping season at 36 ports that handle about half the cargo from ships coming into and out of the United States.
