For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
Hebrews 6:7

This verse is found in the middle of an illustration the writer of Hebrews is making to their reader, but is a very succinct, concise description both of how God designed the earth to behave, and that He had pronounced it good. God's blessings are always both good and practical, meaning both useful and beneficial. Here, the ground soaks up the rain, which allows plants to grow. Plants need both soil and water to grow, in addition to sunlight. Elsewhere in Scripture, God says He causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust alike, and that even the young lions look to God for their food.

Just one of the many reasons we sing The Doxology:

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below.
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Amen.
