Open Letter To Chris Sky, Re: Windsor Promos Hi Chris, I hear you're coming to Windsor, Ontario soon. I'm the Santa Whitebeard that helps a lot at the rallies in Windsor, Leamington, London, etc. You may remember our boat-banner video promoting your August visit. I've had this idea for at least 6 months, and since I'm now making promo videos for our rallies, I figured I'd pitch it to you. Below is linked the original audio and lyrics of a spoken word track by Jello Biafra (of the infamous Dead Kennedys punk band, but now sadly a Boomer sellout). The original audio quality and slow pacing are meh, and I'm hoping you can re-record it cleanly in your own voice, ideally with video. We can add audio effects in post if necessary. I'll invite folks from our Windsor Freedom Rally community to record videos of themselves at various sites around Windsor, lip syncing to your new audio recording. I will then edit their diverse footage together in a montage, saving the concluding sound bite for you to wrap it all up with whatever video you can provide from wherever you may be. (You might want to read it for your performance, except for the last lines. The more takes you provide, the more I can edit and tweak from them.) And, after a brief beat, you can then continue to say something to the effect of, "I'm Chris Sky and I'll see you 2pm Saturday May 7, at the Great Canadian Flag, downtown Windsor, Ontario at Riverside and Ouellette." Also, you may modify or omit some spoken word lyrics if you like (ie. velvet Quayle). I'd like to share two versions: one with, and one slightly shorter without the specific event-promo end-blurb. If you're interested, we could do a third version too - to release after Windsor, but to be considered as you continue to travel the world. You could shoot video in interesting places, with interesting scenarios, props, and faces (with you or instead of you), all to be synced to the audio. This would be like a music video. (I worked on countless TV ads and music videos in the 1990s and 2000s in NYC, Toronto, SF, Vancouver, etc.) One major consideration: corporate media may be possessive of their copyrighted lyrics. No pressure, but if you are interested and willing, the sooner I get your recordings the sooner I can recruit and shoot. More time means we're more likely to produce better results.
