Earlier this week, Ontario Health CEO Matthew Anderson said about 212,000 people are waiting for a scheduled surgery. Before the pandemic, the number was 198,000. Worse, 110,000 of the people waiting now have been on the list so long that the delay is not clinically responsible, Anderson said. Before the pandemic, the number of people with long waits was 40,000.
