Spent the morning in the kitchen, making bean bread, flatbread, and throwing a couple chunks of beef into a small roaster in the toaster oven. I've made these using biscuit dough in the past, but they were always very dough-heavy, meaning more biscuit than filling. So I'm wondering if the crescent-roll idea would be more balanced between filling and casing. If so, the plan is to make my own versions of "pizza pouches/pockets" and such, because my son insists on those things being in the house for days my daughter and I don't get back from the barn in time to have dinner before 7pm. He's adamant that dinner be out of the way by 7pm, which is really crimping dinners around here right now, and making them more expensive as we try to track down "quick dinner ideas", and by quick, he means, ready in 15min or less! Ugh! So I'm hoping this homemade crescent roll recipe will be the ticket to cheaper frozen 15min meals where I know the ingredients that went into them!
