• Approaching a new year always means assessing what worked over the past year, noting what didn't work, and seeing what can be improved upon.

As with many practices in the world of alternative medicine, my client intake form is several pages long and takes roughly 15 minutes to fill out in person with a pen. I have come to the realization, that as technically forward as most of us are these days, as much as we do business online far more than we ever did in the past, there are some tasks that are still considered "too much work", and it becomes a barrier to obtaining service.

Now when you visit my FREE Session page, you have the option to download, fill, print, sign, scan, and email back to me your Client Intake Packet, OR, you can click the e-signature link to fill it out right there in your browser and send it to me that way. If both sets of forms say they are over quota, just drop me a line requesting the e-signature link and fill it out in your browser directly from that link in your email. If you are reaching out to me over DM on a social platform, the link can be given to you that way as well.

  • It took some finagling on the back end of my website, but by the end of January 2024, I had a way to roughly track post views again, two ways to be exact. So we'll take a look at two different perspectives of how many people visited my site for various topics of interest over the past 11 months. It always fascinates me what content rises to the top over the course of a year. It was good to see attention paid to some of the warnings I've tried to get out there, with what they want to do around bird flu, the henipa mitigation article still holds weight and I was pleased to see that article visited the evening of January 1st.

When one of the platforms I'm on threatened to charge for media storage, I began posting foraging articles to my blog, and those have been getting a decent number of views over the course of 2024. These articles give a glimpse into what we forage for and occasionally why we forage for it as well as forays into preparing what we forage.

I now have people asking for advanced foraging workshops, which are in the very early planning phases. Feedback on that list would be very helpful at this stage.

The remainder of the list was various subjects related to using food as medicine for various issues facing the general public. Some of those issues are string puller caused, others are big pharma caused ( I might be repeating myself there), but the powerhouses of nutrition and medicine that God has placed within our grasp is incredible to uncover, particularly as ongoing modern-day research continues to verify and explain why various herbs were used for the same reasons in centuries past.

To those of you who have been sharing my blog articles and newsletters, I want to say a BIG thank you! My numbers are very small compared to the numbers you're taught to expect when marketing your services online. But this is encouraging nonetheless.

If there are topics or services you hope to see me cover or offer in the coming year, do drop me a line and share, either where you see this article on social media or directly to my inbox at bnhc@naturalhealthgodsway.ca

  • Canada's on line Safety Act is in the house, that means Canada is NEXT. The UK’s sweeping online censorship law – the Online Safety Act – that will be enforced from March of next year is already claiming its first victims. The new legislative landscape in the country is now not providing any kind of safety for hundreds of small websites, including non-profit forums, that will have to shut down, unable to comply with the act – specifically, faced with what reports refer to as “disproportionate personal liability.”

  • For a while now, emerging AI has been treated by the Biden-Harris administration, but also the EU, the UK, Canada, the UN, etc., as a scourge that powers dangerous forms of “disinformation” – and should be dealt with accordingly. According to those governments/entities, the only “positive use” for AI as far as social media and online discourse go, would be to power more effective censorship (“moderation”).

  • It is not every day that you achieve the status of “he-who-must-not-be-named.” But that curious distinction has been bestowed upon me by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, according to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and other publications. For more than a year, people who tried to research my name online using ChatGPT were met with an immediate error warning.
It turns out that I am among a small group of individuals who have been effectively disappeared by the AI system. How we came to this Voldemortian status is a chilling tale about not just the rapidly expanding role of artificial intelligence, but the power of companies like OpenAI. Joining me in this dubious distinction are Harvard Professor Jonathan Zittrain, CNBC anchor David Faber, Australian mayor Brian Hood, English professor David Mayer, and a few others.

  • A network facilitating spy agencies’ intelligence-sharing between the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, known as Five Eyes, has its sights set on encryption, and proceeding from that, also online anonymity. Even more online censorship would also not be a bad idea – these are some of the highlights from the first public-facing paper the organizations behind this group have published.

  • Canada’s authorities want to speed up the process of adoption of a sweeping censorship law, Online Harms Act/Bill C-63 – and to that effect, it has now been split into two separate bills. The reason the C-63’s passage has slowed down in parliament is ongoing debates around some of the most contentious provisions, such as a new hate crime offense that could be punished with life in prison, when it is committed along with another crime.

  • Australia is gearing up to roll out some of the world’s strictest social media rules, with Parliament having pushed through legislation to bar anyone under 16 from creating accounts on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok. It’s a sweeping measure but, as the ink dries, the questions are piling up. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Labor government and the opposition teamed up on Thursday to pass the new restrictions with bipartisan enthusiasm. And why not? Opinion polls show a whopping 77% of Australians are behind the idea. Protecting kids online is an easy sell which is why it’s often used to usher in the most draconian of laws. Still, the devil—as always—is in the details.
