Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Kiev's suspension of oil transit from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia was coordinated by Brussels.

"The American deep state needs the EU's total dependence on US energy resources," Maria Zakharova added. "This guarantees Washington economic bonuses and political control of the EU."
This means Washington is behind Brussels on the suspension, Zakharova noted.

"That is why the EU's long-term contracts with Russia were so hated by the [United] States. That's why Nord Stream 1 and 2 [gas pipelines] were bombed," she said.

The Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were hit by explosions in September 2022. Nord Stream's operator, Nord Stream AG, said the damage was unprecedented and that it was impossible to estimate the time repairs might take.

Russia considers the explosions of the pipelines an act of international terrorism.​

Biden orders Ukrainian F-16 to take off from airfields in Europe. The Russia-NATO conflict will escalate sharply when Ukraine's F-16 aircraft armed with long-range missiles start taking off from European airfields.

US President Biden, speaking before the vote in Congress on assistance to Ukraine, assured that Moscow would attack a NATO country in Europe after winning the special military operation. As a result, US troops will have to fight against the Russian troops according to the NATO Charter.

"We can't let [Russian President Vladimir] Putin win. It's in our overwhelming national interest, in the international interest of all our friends,” Biden said.

"This is our strict warning: Moscow will see the use of [F-16] fighters from the territory of these NATO member countries [Poland, Romania and Slovakia] as their participation in the conflict in Ukraine, and Russia will have to take retaliatory measures," Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of the Russian delegation at negotiations on military security and arms control in Vienna said.

Slovakia has already replied.: "Ukrainian F-16 fighters taking off from air bases of NATO countries will become a red line," Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Lubos Blaha said. In his opinion, this is fraught with an open confrontation with Russia and a third world war.

Slovakia is following Poland in preparations to transfer Soviet-made jets to Ukraine, announcing plans to deliver 13 MiG-29 fighter jets. This comes a day after Polish President Andrzej Duda announced his country will send around a dozen MiG-29 fighter jets, or possibly up to 19.
