Florida School District Banned Cell Phones and the Results Have Been Wild

A Florida school district that banned student cell phone use this school year is reporting fewer problems and better grades.

Broward County Public Schools banned any phone use, including at lunchtime.

“I’ve noticed a lot more creativity with students, I think their attention spans are a little longer, they have excellent conversations in their groups, those conversations are lasting longer, our class discussions are definitely a lot longer and they’re a lot deeper because no one’s really focused on checking their phone,” Dan Katz, who teaches drama and law at Fort Lauderdale High School, said.

School board member Allen Zeman said fights are down 17 percent from the same point a year ago. According to school administrators, he said, “the lack of cellphones is taking away an ability for people to organize fights and organize big numbers of people to get together and fight during or after school.

Zeman said academic achievement has improved throughout the schools because of the policy. “This year, at the halfway point, our gains are greater than they were, the gains, from last year,” Zeman said.

“I had a teacher write to us and say for the first time in 10 years, for each student in her classroom, she had two eyeballs watching her give a lecture,” he said.

A Broward County Schools news release said that banning cell phone use, even during lunch, led to “[p]rioritizing school as a place for learning that is distraction-free. This can help students stay focused on academics and maintain a learning mindset throughout the school day.”

Preventable Deaths And Vitamin D3

We had an inexpensive life-saving solution both before and during the pandemic.

​The inconvenient truth is that even at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a very simple, inexpensive and effective treatment was available that could have saved the majority of lives lost (1-3). All that the WHO and public health bureaucracy had to do was to recommend and support people taking sufficient Vitamin D3.

Fast forward to COVID-19. How many people could have been saved from just having their levels of vitamin D3 brought up to 50 ng/ml (or higher!)? We knew about vitamin D3. It really didn’t take a randomized clinical trial to understand the link between D3 and RNA respiratory virus morbidity and mortality. The USA alone could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives, let alone all of the possible lives that could have been saved in the rest of the world. That these lives were unnecessarily lost is not acceptable in any way, shape or form. It truly was a crime against humanity.

​Many people (and physicians) rely on the CDC and NIH to guide them in healthcare and wellness decisions. It is way past time that these organizations step up to the plate and do their job, and stop relying on the unscientific biases of highly influential bureaucrats. That job being to protect the health of the public, not advancing the interests of the pharmaceutical industry and its shareholders.​

NOT A DOCTOR Bill Gates argues that it is not cost-effective to provide individuals with long-term healthcare. Instead, Gates believes his fellow human beings should be euthanized to reduce healthcare costs so that the money that would have been used for treatments can be spent elsewhere.

In 2010, Gates weighed up the cost of keeping “terminally ill” Americans alive versus paying for teachers’ salaries. Gates lamented: Americans are unwilling to question if spending money on people in the last three months of their lives was cost-effective.

Deputy National Security Director for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technology Anne Neuberger said publicly that an executive action on cybersecurity has been in the works for months. The draft order instructs the Social Security Administration to consider offering attribute validation services, providing a yes or no response to queries for identity verification to government systems and benefits programs. Such services could replace those offered by data brokers and credit bureaus.

The CEO of a professional body of therapists in the UK has been forced to issue a grovelling apology after it was discovered that he was following Tommy Robinson on X. James Esses notes that the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists were informed back in August that its Chief Executive Steve Jamieson’s personal X account was following Robinson, who the organisation describes as a “far–right activist.” The non-profit organisation conducted a five month investigation into the matter led by trustees and even appointed a barrister as an independent investigator.
