Some take offense to the way the King James Version words things. In this passage, what we call meat today, honestly is the muscle of the animal that God said to kill, roast and eat. Referring to it as flesh is accurate, if not commonly ascribed to the concept of food these days. In modern times, we tend to reserve that term for living muscle, or human muscle, but the translators for the KJV used it here to refer to food that comes from the muscle of an animal.
The second thing of note in this passage, is how God says to cook the meat. For this first Passover meal, it wasn't to be boiled, not to be eaten raw, but to be roasted. There are those out there who think that fire-roasted meat will draw out nasty nitrates and nitrites. Naturally-occurring nitrates and nitrites are beneficial to the cardiovascular system. Commercially-derived versions that get added to meat products sold in grocery stores however, are dangerous and if eaten in enough quantities can lead to health issues, even cancer.
We must never allow ourselves to think that we know better than God, how to do anything in life. He created everything and knows how it all ticks and fits together. If we have been led to believe anything that opposes how God does things, we need to question that difference and look for why God says to do it a certain way, because God is never wrong! The created can't tell the Creator that the Creator made a mistake!
