I've always found some of these things quite interesting -- there certainly seems to have been a pre-Adamic race on Earth -- one that destroyed itself which I believe is why _AFTER_ God created the Earth, it all of a sudden was "without form and void" -- KJV. Since God does not create anything half-way or in chaos, something seems to have occurred between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. There are great cases made as to what they were and they all have to do with a pre-Adamic civilization.
