This holiday food shows up in Ambrosia fruit salad, chocolate fountains at buffets, may feature in strawberry/rhubarb pie, jam with scones for breakfast, etc. However you like your strawberries over the Christmas season, just know that you are giving your body a health boost every time you eat them! Buy them frozen to enjoy year-round, or grow them in your garden.

Holiday Foods, Day 13, Pecans! Pecans often show up in tarts, pies, nut mixes, and various chocolate treats. Thanks to their proanthocianidins, they are a very useful nut to add to your holiday festivities this year. But pay attention to allergy-sufferers or those who may have sensitivities to nuts. My adult son developed a harsh sensitivity to Pecans and he had to avoid them for a couple years. He accidentally ate a pecan chocolate the other day with no ill effects, Praise the Lord! So the rest period may have been what his body needed. Pecans are not recommended for infants.

Holiday Foods, Day 16, Oranges! Oranges aren't just holiday stocking stuffers, they're integral to maintaining your health at this time of year! (And that was said decades before 2020) Oranges feature in Ambrosia salad (at least my version of it), Christmas crockpot potpourri, orange glazes for roasts, punch recipes, and even those disgusting orange chocolates that only appear at Christmastime. I'm not a fan of navel oranges, but don't mind manderins or their cousins. However you enjoy your oranges, be sure to reach for them this year!
