Another look at intuition, what is it? A will start with a short review to set the stage for this new understanding of intuition.
I once said that intuition is having thoughts generated from feelings about something that is not here and now. We can feel things that are not directly touching us. Usually these feelings were generated by people in the near vicinity. It seems that we are touching, but if you look in detail you will notice feelings being generated without touch. We often misinterpret these feelings as thoughts about the person you live with and supposedly love. This is because we don't notice the feelings as being first. We assume that it is the thoughts that are creating the feelings, which can be positive or negative. It's the other way though, the feelings are constant, and our brains/mind learn to ignore this low level constant stream of feelings.
There is more there and I will come back to it, but I must also move forward now and try to explain this new idea I had about intuition. It's complex. It also involves time. I'm going to start with a diagram.
Diagram #1

What I have noticed and have written about above is the first few layers. What I see now about intuition is the next couple of layers. The waves probably go all the way out, but fade to nothing with time and space. Thus it's complicated.
I'm having feelings about my son's future. These feelings generate thoughts, which represent this next kind of intuitive thought. I see through my personal connection with my two sons that I have feelings based upon their future. My own too because society is changing fast now, and the changes happening will happen in my lifetime. So I have a lot of feelings about my culture, my children's lives and human society in general. These feelings are generating thoughts. These thoughts are about potential futures. One is orchestrated by corporations, world money organizations and power hungry governments. The other is being co-created by loving, intelligent sustainable communities. These are both intuitive thoughts.
Each time I have an insight about intuition it is through my personal awareness of myself and the environment. Here this time I am living in this planned crisis using the created fear of virus and illness. In this scenario I am having feelings for my young son and his older brother. I love them and feel concern for their future. I try to live in the moment, but he makes my reality bigger than the moment. This is okay.
All this spiritual talk about the moments is good, but I am human and humans know about time and space and these are infinite. As I expand my being to include more time and space, it expands my feelings and thoughts. These expansive feelings and thoughts are intuition, and this gets me all excited. As I think of the ramifications of these thoughts I am excited about their conclusions and results in human psychology and well being.
Note too how this insight about intuition affects our personal past. The childhood that is ours, the pains (feelings) and thoughts that we had from our parents and families. From this perspective the moment can and does include my past too.
