• You still trust Pharma and Vaccines? This might blow your mind:

Nearly 20 years ago, CBS aired a segment on the flu shot, revealing a shocking truth: despite flu shot uptake among seniors rising from 15% to 65%, flu deaths kept going up.

NIH scientists were devastated. This was not the result they were hoping to find. They assumed other factors must be “masking the true benefits of the shots.”

“But no matter how they crunched the numbers, they got the same disappointing result. Flu shots have not reduced deaths among the elderly,” Sharyl Attkisson reported.

And when they looked at other countries? They found “the same poor results in Australia, France, Canada, and the UK.”

So what did the CDC do? They doubled down. Instead of admitting failure, they kept pushing flu shots. Even worse, they turned to a “roundabout way” of protecting seniors—injecting kids to “protect grandma.”

Sound familiar? They pulled the same stunt during COVID. When the pharmaceutical product didn’t work as promised, they injected kids to “protect grandma” all over again.

“If they were doing this 20 years ago, they managed to make the same mistake again. That’s a little bit hard to believe it’s a mistake.”

  • Mastercard intends to do away with the 16-digit number on their credit and debit cards and replace them with on-device biometrics and tokenization as part of a plan to quash identity theft and fraud. In Australia the initial rollout of these new numberless cards will be via a partnership with AMP Bank, but other banks are expected to follow over the next 12 months. Mastercard recently committed to phasing out manual card entry and static passwords by 2030 in favor of tokenization and biometrics, and to replace traditional authentication methods with on-device biometrics for users to authenticate purchases without exposing personal data online.

  • Fans attending this year’ Australian Open (AO) tennis tournament must agree to be monitored by facial recognition cameras, under a new clause added to the Grand Slam’s terms and conditions. “By entering the tournament site,” says a report in The Age, “patrons acknowledge that security cameras which ‘may incorporate facial recognition technology’ will be used in order to ‘enhance security and patron safety’.” The terms and conditions specify that the latter includes, “without limitation, to assist in identifying and denying entry to, or ejecting, persons who have been removed or denied entry to the AO under these conditions (including persons who M&OP and TA reasonably believe it is in the best interests of the safety, security or integrity of the AO to do so), for other law enforcement purposes and contact tracing.”

  • One down, most of Europe (and elsewhere) to go . . .

In a win for free speech advocates, the Australian Government formally abandoned its misinformation bill over the weekend, after failing to secure support in the Senate.

The proposed laws would have forced social media companies to show that they were preventing the spread of misinformation and disinformation on their platforms, with fines of up to 5% of global revenue for non-compliance.

  • A Domino Effect, See what then WE FIGHT back.
During this week, an interesting display of parliamentary dynamics unfolded as an array of Senators announced they would oppose the bill, one by one. Senators Lidia Thorpe, Tammy Tyrell, David Pocock, Jacqui Lambie, Gerard Rennick, Fatima Payman, and others declared their opposition. Their reasons varied from concerns over government overreach, and vague definitions of misinformation, to the implications for political discourse and the potential for misuse. Each statement chipped away at the bill’s support, creating a domino effect.

  • It is not every day that you achieve the status of “he-who-must-not-be-named.” But that curious distinction has been bestowed upon me by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, according to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and other publications. For more than a year, people who tried to research my name online using ChatGPT were met with an immediate error warning.
It turns out that I am among a small group of individuals who have been effectively disappeared by the AI system. How we came to this Voldemortian status is a chilling tale about not just the rapidly expanding role of artificial intelligence, but the power of companies like OpenAI. Joining me in this dubious distinction are Harvard Professor Jonathan Zittrain, CNBC anchor David Faber, Australian mayor Brian Hood, English professor David Mayer, and a few others.

  • A network facilitating spy agencies’ intelligence-sharing between the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, known as Five Eyes, has its sights set on encryption, and proceeding from that, also online anonymity. Even more online censorship would also not be a bad idea – these are some of the highlights from the first public-facing paper the organizations behind this group have published.
